Learning About Three telescope Types
Since the Renaissance, scientists have been using telescopes built originally by the people who made the glasses and made more efficient by the likes of Galileo. Telescopes use light and lenses to focus light on objects in detail. What happens to the light it converges and you see a picture that is much larger than what you are actually looking at. The light is so focused and tight you can see little things clearly and in the big picture. All telescopes work the same way, buying a focused light to enlarge the photos. There are actually three types of telescopes:
One of the telescope species refracting telescope. This type of telescope has a curved mirrors that focus light and magnify the image instead of lenses, which focus the light. The curved glass works the same way as a prism makes bends light which allows it to concentrate. Other common items that use light refraction are binoculars and telephoto lenses for your camera.
Not all refracting telescopes are perfect, however, because of the bad design can cause blurred from varieties of colors to be seen. This phenomenon is called chromatic aberration. Spherical aberrations are also possible and they occur when the curved lenses are not perfect and the light reflected inappropriate. It is not possible to utilize the refracting telescope on a larger scale because of the weight of lenses causing disruption from sagging. This limits their usefulness for extensive scientific research.
Other types of telescope’s reflecting telescope. This type of telescope is similar refracting telescope except that the light does not go through the lens. Instead, the light reflected by the mirrors of curved glass. The first reflecting telescope was perfect after Isaac Newton after many attempts in the past to change the refracting telescope reflecting telescope. It is a reflecting telescope named after Isaac Newton to honor his contribution.
Between telescope models, reflecting telescopes are selected from the larger laboratories instead of refracting telescopes. This is because the curved mirrors used in reflecting telescopes are properly supported from all sides instead of only at the edges so that no sagging occurs. It is still possible to have a spherical deviation reflecting telescopes, however, as well as a phenomenon called the coma stars are distorted and appear pointed.
Third telescope acts catadioptric telescope. This type of telescope technology uses reflection and refraction properties of telescopes, which helps to reduce or eliminate many of the problems that the two themselves. The catadioptric telescope has a problem on its own, though. There is often extra mirror in the tube light would normally go through, it is possible to reduce the light in the picture.
The catadioptric telescope is a popular product because it is easy to produce and it can magnify images to a large extent. This telescope is designed more for the average person, though, but for scientists where most professionals prefer reflective telescopes.
The catadioptric telescope combines the best of the two telescope types in one model. It shows how far telescopes have emerged and scientific advances that have been made to allow this to happen.
